UniPlan™
UniPlan’s comprehensive hierarchical floorplanning capability is designed with custom design in mind, giving you the freedom to plan layout, placement and routing in an interactive and automated manner.
As a constituent of Unity™, UniPlan is fully integrated with placement, editing, routing, timing and signal integrity components ― a single mouse click enables you to move between individual components with ease.
Infinite flexibility
Using UniPlan you can manage logical hierarchy, define a floorplan, or define, position and size soft macros, or automatically and/or manually place soft and hard macros while locating I/O positions.
- Full power planning and power grid implementation.
- Data push down capability.
- Supports highly flexible, general (polygonal,) floorplan shapes and placement regions.
- Supports multiple height cells, macro blocks and vertical/horizontal rows.
- Contains automatic ring and mesh tools.
- Full global routing and congestion analysis.
Hierarchical and pseudo hierarchical floorplanning
As well as fully hierarchical capabilities, UniPlan also supports a ‘top-down’, ‘bottom-up’, or combined methodology. Using UniPlan you’re free to select a flat, virtual hierarchical, hierarchical or mixed approach ― in any combination.
- Creates region guides and fences in preparation for constraint-driven standard cell placement (flat design methodology).
- Hierarchical cluster placement support (flat design methodology).
- Defined soft macros can be edited in situ, or pushed into, for editing purposes (hierarchy design methodology), and flat design capabilities are available in an infinitely recursive way.
- Automatic pin placement for soft macros ensures the most efficient routing connections at the top level.
- Object/routing push-down capabilities (for example, push-down power routing into a sub-block).
