Largest EDA supplier for IC design in Japan to distribute IC routing solutions from British Start-up
Bristol, UK – 15 February 2002 – Pulsic Limited, the British start-up that brings leading IC routing solutions to the EDA market place, today announced it has signed an agreement with Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII) for the distribution of Pulsic’s products in Japan. SII will provide local sales, marketing and front-line technical support for Pulsic’s solutions to Japanese companies that design all manner of electronic products, especially those focused on designing complex system-on-chip (SoC) products.
Pulsic’s next generation product line, called Lyric™, delivers the ultimate in performance and quality of results, coupled with unparalleled timing, signal integrity and interactive editing capabilities, to designers implementing leading edge designs, so as to increase their productivity and drastically reduce time-to-market.
Mr. Takahiro Ozasa, Division Manager of EDA at SII said, “We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Pulsic. We were very impressed with its initial product offering, which we have sold through OEM since March 2001 bundled with our own SX-9000 IC design product range, and the quality of the routing produced, combined with the breadth of features that comes with Lyric is simply outstanding”, he added. “Having worked closely with Pulsic over the last year, we are confident that its routing solutions will become a leading component in IC EDA flows as process technologies continue to decrease”, he concluded.
“Seiko was an early adopter of our products last year, and it is based on this success that SII is keen to offer our first fully featured commercial products”, stated Fumiaki Sato, Pulsic’s Senior Vice President of Business Development. “SII is the largest EDA supplier for IC design in Japan, with a very healthy user base for both its own solutions and third-party product lines. Seiko provides an excellent and well-proven sales, marketing and technical support infrastructure; we couldn’t have hoped for a better distribution partner for our expansion in this extremely important market”, he concluded.
Lyric is based on Pulsic’s new and ground-breaking routing technology, called T-routeT, which is an evolution of shape-based methodology specifically developed by Pulsic for IC design.
SII is the leading EDA vendor of IC design tools in Japan, with an install base of over 3000 licenses. The company’s products, including its flagship product range SX-9000, are used by the majority of Japanese semi-conductor design companies at more than 300 sites across the country.
