Applications Engineer sought by Pulsic, Inc. for Santa Clara, CA location. Must possess Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic/experiential equivalent in Computer Engineering or directly related field and 2 years experience in writing specifications and implementing EDA software customizations and supporting customers during design implementation. Scripting languages: Python, tcl/tk. Programming languages: C/C++.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design EDA system flow and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new software environments, and improve its performance. Develop introductory and advance training materials for layout and CAD users and perform one-on-one advanced user CAD training. Analyze user/ customers needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Consult with customers about EDA software system design flow and maintenance. Coordinate software system installation and monitor performance and functionality to ensure specifications are met. Use Python and tcl/tk scripting languages and C/C++ programming languages to design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan software specifications and design layouts.. Supervise the work of subordinate programmers, technologists and technicians and other engineering and technical personnel. Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine configuration.

An individual with an ability to travel is preferable.
